Own A Pony Days

Our Own a Pony Days are very popular with between 25 and 35 children attending. We run these in the school holidays to give the children a taste of stable life and what happens behind the scenes. Suitable for children aged 6 upwards and no experience is necessary.

The day starts with a full riding lesson followed by grooming and stable preparation including changing waters and filling hay nets ready for the horses to come in at night. After dinner we talk about the saddles and bridles and have lots of horsey fun and games.

The day ends with a rosette award and quite often a certificate of participation. You drop the children off between 9.30 and 10am and pick them up between 2.30 and 3pm. The children will need a packed lunch and clothing suitable for the weather.

Whether you are a regular rider or never been near a horse we are sure you will enjoy the day and the children usually sleep very well after being active in the fresh air and the weather is not a problem as most of the day can be held indoors. £50 per rider. Why not bring a friend.

To book any of our events you will need to be registered on our online booking system and click on events. Click here to register https://foxhills-riding-centre.ecpro.co.uk then add your rider/s then download the ecpro app and start booking.

MyGG Pony Club - Every Wednesday

MYGG PONY CLUB meets every Wednesday at 5pm to 7pm and is designed to teach children from around 8 years of age upwards all about horses which will enable them to gain extra equine knowledge about the care and workings of a horse and its needs . This continuous course will also benefit their riding ability and give them insight as to how to look after a pony properly. All too often children and adults take animals for granted but unlike cats, dogs, hamsters, rabbits etc ponies are a lot bigger and depend on their owners to keep them safe and well. Because of their size horses and ponies can be dangerous so knowing how to look after and understand them will make them safer to be around.

Each subject will have an award system which once covered and understood will formulate into a sizable equine CV. Together with manageable homework  and task sheets benefits of reference and achievement will last for a long time.

The weekly sessions will be classroom, stable or field based and cover a huge variety of subjects but well within the capabilities of the age range. It may be beneficial to attend with a drink but not food which must be consumed before or after.

The cost is £5 per week for members and £6-50 for non-members. Membership to the MYGG club is £15 and will also give extra benefits to other activities that we hold. Please contact us if you would like more information.

Reserve your place and you are welcome to bring a friend
