Foxhills Farm & Riding Centre together with the Association of British Riding Schools (ABRS) brings to you the official Equitation and Stable Management examinations (aged 5 and over).
Being able to ride and groom a horse or muck out a stable is one thing but having certificates from an organisation that is recognised throughout the world is proof that you can do it well and these certificates will be with you for the rest of your life and respected as a standard of equestrian achievement. Foxhill’s Riding Centre is pleased to have achieved the high standard required by the ABRS to promote and educate people of all ages to reach their goals in riding and stable management. Each certificate gained is definitely something to be proud of and a welcome addition to your CV.
The more certificates you gain marks a pathway of your progress within the equine world and an ideal goal is to create a portfolio of your achievements.
Whether you are an experienced rider or beginner we always recommend that you start at the first test and work upwards. For the more experienced rider the first few tests will be a breeze but they do get harder. Tests A to E are designed as a gentle introduction for younger children or nervous riders. All other riders will start at test No 1.
The tests can take two routes. The first is riding and the second is stable management. Both are highly recommended and are open to all ages from 5 years upwards. You do not have to ride to take the stable management tests.
ABRS Progressive rider tests have been specifically designed to provide a logical and progressive system of training. They give adult and younger riders a structured program of realistic stepping stones to achieve their equestrian goals both in the saddle and on the ground. The tests can also be adapted as necessary to suit riders with a disability.
All the tests can be taken right here at Foxhills on our horses or your own. Carry on reading and you will be able to see all the tests that are available right up to instructor level and the coveted advanced teaching and grooms diploma.
Tests up to number 5 can be scored with our own instructors but then as we progress up the levels we will be able to tutor the tests here at Foxhills but we will bring in an instructor from the ABRS to conduct the actual tests so that total unbiased marking can produce an accurate result.
We are now running group and private tuition tests throughout the week but mainly at weekends. Courses are half hour and one hour for ridden and in two and three hour sessions for stable management so please ask us for any further information that you require.
